Old commute to work- Distance 8.10 miles
- Time 00:45:00
- Average Speed 10.80 mph
- Average Pace 5:33 min/mile
So at the intersection of SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy and SW Lombard (http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=45.486561,-122.8...) on my commute in to work you have to wait for a car to trigger the fucking stop light. This morning I ended up waiting three full lights for a car to show up before giving up, turning around, and taking a slightly different route... So neither my time nor my distance are strictly accurate, but they match the spirit of the commute...
The look on the drivers' faces across the street while I tried bunny hopping on the stupid traffic sensor was priceless.

You probably know this already, but on the off chance... those triggers are usually induction coils under the surface, and they don't care about weight. If you have a reasonable amount of steel in your bike you can usually trip it by lying your bike down across the trigger area for just a second (you can do this with one foot still clipped in, even.)
Here's another idea: stick a rare earth magnet to your shoe.

I didn't know that, so thanks. Usually I just trot over and hit the cross walk button, but that particular intersection doesn't have a cross walk.
