rode 5.5 miles from Rockport to Gloucester, with a brief stop at Lee's Diner for a pottato skins breakfast. Rode the century option in a hot, humid day -- high 80s all day long with sticky, wet humidity on top of that. Did all right considering, putting in about a 16-17 mph average on the first 80 miles. Meet up with my sweetie (who was doing the 60 mike/100k option) at the 83 mile rest stop and then rode easy with her back to the finish.

She wanted to do a century, however, just not within the time limits set by the diabetes folks, so we had lunch then did the 40 mile ride home Gloucester. Stopped for dinner in Salem and got slightly off course in Wakefield.

In the end, the ride from Gloucester turned out be about 44.5. So, with everything added up, for me it was a 150.2 mile day, and for her it was about 110. Good day. Long day. A cold shower never felt so magical.
