Like a complete fool, I rode in shorts and a t-shirt. I continued to feel cold for three hours after I got off the bike.
I don't really own any winter bike clothes, so I'm thinking about wearing my welding gloves tomorrow.

That's a long distance to ride cold!
Do you have wool anything? Wool socks keep your feet warm much better than cotton, and if you have a spare pair, you can improvise mitts out of them :-)
Oh, and layers. Seriously. Don't overdress -- you should be a little cold at the beginning -- but having the option to zip and unzip stuff on your torso as you warm up helps a lot.
And you should really put those temperatures in your tags. You're one of us now.
I'm going to go buy some more sensible clothes this weekend, hopefully. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it greatly.
Mostly it was my feet and hands that suffered, I tried to ride hard enough that my core would stay warm, which mostly worked.
I need to stop being such cheapo.
