Been trying a new still of running the last few runs. Shorter stride, quicker leg motions. It's been working well. This has been increasing my average pace over long distances by at least a minute per mile.

PS: I've actually been running quite a bit, just not logging them into weendure.com :(

My average body weight is down from about 235 to 229. It seems I'm finally starting to lose weight. Perhaps the initial lack of weight loss was muscle being added while fat was being stripped off.

My injuries are holding up well and I'm avoiding the "balls out" approach to running, and taking a safer, more mature stance of restraint.

Good thing you explained that you were lazy at entering-in but not running - I was going to comment on that Hey, what is this mature, restraint talk? Isn't it supposed to hurt all the time? After having a wonderful peaceful run this morning I can definitely identify w/ your ideas - this should be fun and non-injurious and healthy; sometimes my ego gets in the way of my pleasure. I think you're being smart.

I read quite a lot of the faster turnover and shortened stride ideas. In fact, I have shortened my stride quite a lot as well. Unfortunately, a lot of my trail work puts me in that shortened stride mode so much that, unless I work at it on the track or road, I end up with my running looking more like shuffling. I guess there has to be balance to all of this.

I responded to your query on my site re the Ridgeline Ultra.
