The weather today was beautiful... so I heard. At 4:30 I decided I'd had enough of the office and bailed out for a ride down the monon (mostly in the dark).

My headlight and taillight ready to go, I hoped on the bike in hopes of an hour of easy spinning.

At some point heading south while it was still somewhat light out, my headlight batteries gave out. Oh shit. Oh well! I figure on the Monon what can happen.

The interesting part was the detour coming home at College and 116th. I dodged cars and just assumed they couldn't see me unless they got a look at my tail light.

When I got home, my tail light was off. I had put new batteries in it before I left. I'm not sure what the deal is. I need to take it apart and see if it's shorting.

I also have a horrific creaking noise. While riding I thought it was my right crank arm or the chainring bolts. When I got home, I discovered that it may be my fork or bars.

My Roark can't get here soon enough! I plan on cleaning and inspecting my Trek in full on Friday during my day off.
