This morning I went out for a ride at the lakehouse. I decided to do the same loop as last weekend to see if I could remember it.

It didn't seem as hard this week. Possibly because I'm finally kicking a cold I've been fighting. My time was about the same though... so I must not have been any faster!

I took it easy most of the ride. Just sitting and enjoying the beautiful fall colors and rolling hills. Just as I passed the dam at Courdry, there was a view that made me wish I had my camera. Rolling hills. Morning fog. And a color pallette I can'd describe. It was amazing.

The last couple of climbs didn't seem quite as hard this week. They were still tough, but not as bad. The final climb back up to Sweetwater seems to go forever. Eagle Rd can't come fast enough.

Next weekend I'm probably going to run the route in reverse to see what it's like.

Wait until you get the Roark down there. At 3-4 pounds lighter, you'll fly up the hills.

Oh, and wait until you kick it up above 24 on the flats, with those Zipp 404s you won't believe the difference. I am not going to ride fast with you until I get a set.

:-p

Hey Gman and mtanner. Another Roark owner here. Wish I had time to train like you do, You might as well call me Moab Mommie. With 2 small kids and a farm to run I can only dream of actually "Train".
I have an older Roark and I still love it. It's about 10 years old and after getting the shop (Roark) to recondition and bring it up to date aka refitted. I think it is the most comfortable bike I have.
Have fun and remember-plastic side up-rubber side down.
