so i got the bike computer working. it says my ride to work in 6.27 miles instead of 6.1. I had calculated 6.1 based on google maps and a car odometer. Of course the bike picks up all those extra little twists and turns, so the actual number probably lies somewhere in between. So things might move around a bit before I am satisfied with calibration.

for "Time", I am going to continue going with total time elapsed, thus including time spent stuck at lights, etc. so that will continue to bring my average speed down a bit. (for the record, my average speed today on the computer today was 14.56, and my ridetime was 27:06)

It was slow going today because of some sort of big accident on Brighton near Breakwater. It had traffic backed up all the way up the hill to the Lowe's. I didn't rubberneck at the scene but I am guessing the cause might have been sun glare.

Next step: get the cadence thing hooked up.
