up early and couldn't get back to sleep before work (that's what happens when you go to bed at 10 p.m.), so went for a run around the neighborhood. might be the coolest time of the day to run, so i might be doing this sort of thing again. not sure why i would want to voluntarily get up earlier than i already do, but hey... why not?

maybe because we're not 17 anymore. i've got a pretty lazy morning schedule, and i can sleep til almost 8, but i find myself waking at 6 probably 3 or 4 days a week now. i can will myself back to sleep but i'm starting to wonder why. i don't think it has any real benefits in terms of rest, since the last hour is a very light doze, and whether i simply come to work earlier or do something else, that hour ought to be useful for something.
