Valley Forge- Distance 42.80 miles
- Time 03:30:00
- Average Speed 12.23 mph
- Average Pace 4:54 min/mile
Phew. Continuing our preparations for the MS150, decided to get in a nice long ride this weekend. This was our first time on the path out to Valley Forge, and it was pretty nice. The cool temperature (it's only like 73 out right now) helped, though the high humidity did not. Also served as a good reminder to make sure we eat/drink enough on the ride, as we both bonked a bit halfway through the ride back.

carrying fluids is important, but you'll be astonished how well, and how frequently, they feed you. one friend quipped, regarding a prior year, that he actually gained weight during the ride. at every stop, which occurs every 10 to 15 miles without fail, there is a selection of high-energy foods and buckets of gatorade. just keep your bottles full, and maybe carry an energy gel or two in your pocket, and you'll be fine.
