Carolina BMX State Series. 2 races. I raced 17+ Rookie/16 Novice/15 Expert. Would've preferred to race guys my own age and proficiency. Oh well, that's the way the cookie crumbles. Not my best race but I hung in there.

On Sunday, 5/18, Jacob competed in his first race during the S.C. State XC Championships. The actual race he did was the Shimano East Youth Series. Kim and I decided to challenge Jake by bumping him up to the 6-7 yo race. He did not disappoint, as he finished 3rd overall and would've likely finished first for the 5 & under age group. He even got bumped at the start by another racer yet he soldiered on to a strong finish. We were so proud of our little man! All the kids were given a nice gift bag which included an event t-shirt, commemorative event water bottle & many other goodies. Each kid also received a very nice medal for their efforts. The best part of the deal was this came at no cost to the parents. Thanks Shimano and the Stump Jump for doing such a great deed for these youngsters!

Jacob had an awesome time and so did his parents!
