Happy Cinco de Mayo!
My family celebrated this festive holiday by going to our local BMX track for a practice session. Jacob completed 6 full laps + a few practice runs on the final straight. He even did a full lap by himself!!! He got on the gate twice; on the first attempt he fell after hitting the roller and on the second he was much more successful. The track rewarded his great performance by presenting him w/ a cool medal. The track officials told him that he was the youngest rider (5 yo) in the track's fledgling history to do 6 or more laps. Jacob was so proud of his achievement and his family was so very proud of him!

After we returned home from practice I made a few adjustments to Jacob's bike. First, I moved his handlebars forward... this should help the steering of the bike by making it more stable and less twitchy which I believe has caused Jacob to wreck on more than one occasion. I also removed the chain guard and pedal reflectors per the NBL's guidelines.
