commuteRoadkill skunks in the morning are a fine wakeup -- a mingling of sulfur and ammonia that perks you up well as you weave between the carcass in the bike lane and the trucks to your left.
Roadkill skunks in the afternoon are like some kitchen experiment abandoned unfinished - unpleasant, half-baked, smelling of failure.
It was a hot day.
