Knee felt great all day, so I went down to the track to test myself. Ran 5k in under half an hour. The knee MOSTLY felt good, but I'm still very ginger about it. I'm a little worried. Plus, I feel like my cardio is beginning to suffer -- I'm giving back my gains.

After taking a few days off due to my sore knee/IT band, I got back out and ran today. I ran at a moderate pace, feeling like I was lumbering along. My knee still hurt sometimes (and sometimes the pain was sharp), but I did it, and I felt good about it.

This was a terrible run. From the very beginning, me left knee was sore: my IT band trouble, but moved from the mid-thigh to the knee (which is the more traditional place for it to manifest itself, I hear). I felt terrible, but limped along for four miles. I had to give up, though, and hobble back to the car.
The distance and time reflect both the running AND walking...

This was, in theory, our group "sixteen mile run" for marathon training, though my GPS watch says otherwise.
Much better run than last week, though I still crashed near the end. There were no aid stations today, so I wasn't able to get the calories I needed, which sucked.

Okay. Lessons learned: 1. Get a good night's rest before running. 2. Take care of bodily functions before running. 3. You can't just roll out of bed and go running the way you can lift weights.
This was an uncomfortable run from start to finish. I should have allowed myself to wake up first...
