Brooke and I ran together again. Sooo nice to do that but man I was still in pain from the previous day's intervals. Within the first .5 mi my side aches immediately came back and I felt short of breath the entire time. Ugh.
We ran east and then north along Foothills and got near some hairy traffic. Brooke stopped for a poo at Diagonal and 30th and then we hit the path again. Once our heart rates where up again we headed west along Kalmia and then Iris and finished with a trek south on 19th and the infamous 23rd Ave Hill, which we did backwards and saw the GORGEOUS sunrise.
Mornings are getting lighter!
Rest day tomorrow. Arnica tonight.....

Boulder High TrackUGH.... Rich and I died, I mean ran, intervals at the track. Brutal. Brutal. I'd rather do three polar plunges a day than run intervals.
First we ran .8 mi to the track. At the track we sprinted (ran fast) 400, walked 400 x 2; ran 200, walked 200 x 3; ran 100, walked 100 x 2; for a total of one mile of walking, one mile of sprinting. Then ran back to the office, where we coughed up three lungs and passed our at our desks.
The goal is to do this once a week. Generally, I pass on dying a slow and painful suffocation and blinding side aches, but I guess this is good for you (?)
Barf.

Boulder CanyonGot up before work Monday morning to start this weeks new running schedule. Had a great run, considering my unhealthy weekend which lacked enough exercise. Ran with a hard pace and got home in time to have eggs and coffee before work. Yippee!

Boulder CanyonUgh. I didn't run Friday, I was supposed to do this 3 on Friday and rest Saturday but I was swamped at work and it was Austin's birthday so it didn't happen. Thus, I run a lousy hungover 3 on my rest day. It was bad, but it was short so I just got it over with.

South East BoulderHere is the map:
I did this run alone. I was nervous but it went well. I just ran really slowly. But my knees hung int here and I finished so I'm happy. I started at 5; it was dark and somewhat cold. My hands never warmed up. It was good but I was running super slow until about mile 5.5, after Arapahoe, and finally picked up the pace. I intended to do 9.6 miles but sort of lost my route and had to take a detour. But finishing the 10.56 was no problem and my recovery was swift. I feel like we are on just teh right track for our marathon.
We also got a revised running schedule yesterday because Brooke's dad says we are further along in training than he expected. Its intense. By the end of May we will be running 45-50 miles per week. I have no idea where I will find the time for that, but I have no choice. If busier people that me find time for this I certainly can. It is such a commitment though. I really had no idea the amount of time required to do this. Wowsas!
