Nice short ride with Jake on the picallo, out to the buena vista ferry landing and back. Awesome day for a ride, but lots of little bugs that bit the crap out of me.

Did the portland bridge pedal with my son. He had fun, but of the six bridges we were supposed to ride across, we had to walk because once again they can't figure out how to run these things so there isn't a huge cluster-f at some point. They had the 10-bridge and 6-bridge riders merging together on one bridge, and then at the ross island bridge there were literally thousands standing and moving one step at a time for nearly an hour in our case, and we were near the front of the retardation. After that mess I pretty much put it in high gear and told the son "we'll stop and look at all this other crap next time." He had fun, and I took him to mcdonalds after, which is apparently the all american place to take your kid after doing something with them.

Did I mention how terrible at riding most of the people who do this ride are? I don't know how many accidents I had to avoid... Because I had my son I was riding a little slower than I would normally, which was probably a good thing. However, the two of us blew by nearly everyone going uphill which made me feel good as I have been a lazy sack of poo lately. The kid had fun and wants to do it again next year. And monster cookie...

Time to go play a round of 18 on the Wii :)
