Ow.

Not sure why this was such a painful run. 3 miles in Central Park to kick it off (which had the only real hills of the run), then down the west hand side of the island. Slight change from last week where I ran over the Manhattan Bridge instead of the Brooklyn - less tourists in the way.

About 5 miles in, I was done. And five miles isn't very far in. It was pretty hot to start with, but fortunately the sun was masked a bit by some light clouds on the sunniest part of the run. My legs were just shot. Wrecked. Nothing there. No juice. So the whole run was one big slog of 'jesus'.

And then it just got painful. Ok, so this is the furthest I've ever run, so that might have something to do with it, but not my much. Anyway, I did it. It's done.

Missed the Thursday run due to being told last minute that I was flying to Austin. Figured I'd run early Friday morning, but again, last minute, the meeting time changed from 11am to 8.30am and breakfast with the client. Geez. Didn't get back to NY until midnight on Friday. Bummer. But I did get a great memento of Texas.
