Decided to tear out for a short one this morning. Just a three miler or so. It was stupidly humid. As I turned the corner on to the straightaway in Central Park I could see the air just hanging there at the other end. Lurking so that I might run through it and clog my lungs with heavy, wet, soul sapping air.
Ran past what must have been a hell of a collision between a cyclist and a runner. Guess who came off second best. I ran past on the way to the half way turn around point, and by the time I came back, dude was on the spinal stretcher.
I hate seeing things like that, and I'm hoping the spinal board was just a precaution. Some of those cyclists in the park think they're in the Tour de France...I just wish they'd be more careful around blind corners. Sending good vibes to injured runner now, and I hope he gets back out soon.
Pretty sucky run all up. Very slow and hot. But at least I went. :)
