I don't know why, but I felt kind of adventurous once I got going today. I was only going to run over the Manhattan Bridge into Manhattan, turn left and run along water for a while, then turn around and come home. But I dunno, I was feeling good and thought "well, you're very close to the Williamsburg Bridge. Why not run over that and go home that way?"
This is all well and good in theory. But I've never run over the Williamsburg Bridge (an excellent bridge to run over by the way!) and I had no idea how to navigate my way home once back on the Brooklyn side in Williamsburg.
So I got lost a few times. But I knew I basically had to turn right once I got off the bridge. Problem is the Brooklyn Navy Yards are in the way. There's no equivalent water's edge run on the Brooklyn side. So street running it was. After a few wrong turns, I ended up home, tired and sore. I haven't run a long run like that since November.
I felt really good afterwards though. Forgot how good a long run can make you feel within yourself.

Bridge to BridgeBrooklyn Bridge was absolutely PACKED due to the anniversary. Explains all the fireworks last night, which I thought was an invasion.
Run was ok. Back in the kayanos. Seriously, I don't know why I ever switched to Nike. I'm sure they are the cause of my foot pain (which I barely feel in the Kayanos, incidentally)

Prospect Park. Horrible, horrible run. Not sure what went wrong. Just really bad. Cut it short.

TreadmillMy foot's been playing up again recently, and I just couldn't face the hills on my run this afternoon (decided hills are more a a morning thing for me. They seem much more doable when it's fresh morning air and less people on the bridges)
Not a bad slog. Did four miles on the bike afterwards to make it over 40 mins of exercise.
