Oooh, ahhh, man that feels good. That is the range of feelings through this training run. Ran with Jim, Jon, Shane, Dave, Lisa, Dustin and the new kid, Jeremy. Jeremy is an elite runner that has only been running shorter training runs the past few months - Team XO here in Eugene - Weaver State Steeplechaser a few years ago. I played rabbit, or in this case, guide-dog, for the crew for the first 5 miles. Then we split up into faster and slower groups. Beginning temp was 57 but we finished around 82 degrees. The McKenzie River Trail continues to be simply one of the best possible trail runs around - lots and lots of technical single-track. Jim, Shane, and Jeremy were MRT virgins so it was fun to show them this incredible place - it was also pretty fun to make them sweat and give them cramps and things to whine about - although we were all laughing and smiling at the end (even if some couldn't walk very well).

I ran comfortably hard throughout. Could have done better planting water for the crew but that's the only thing I'd do different.

I love running and I love running in Oregon and I love running with my incredible, amazing friends - only sorry that Erik wasn't there but he was tending to his family which is so much more important.

Sounds like an awesome place to run. That was a quick recovery from your Marathon a week ago too. Excellent job.

Thanks Robin. I was pretty pleased with how my body worked. It was sort of dissociated from my brain - my head said I should be tired but my legs just kept working at a good, solid pace. Maybe some of this training is finally having some benefits.
