Butte To Butte 10K- Distance 6.20 miles
- Time 00:41:53
- Average Speed 8.88 mph
- Average Pace 6:45 min/mile
- Elevation 350.00 feet
Good run today. I wasn't too ready for the start but we were off with no time to get cold after our warm-up miles (poor planning on my part.) Did the first mile at 7:19 (the bus stop arrived at 7:09 which is at the peak of the hill.) I was shooting for a 6:45 average, dreaming of making it under 42 min.
Mile 2: 6:27
Mile 3: 6:30
Mile 4: 6:46
Mile 5: 6:39
Mile 6: 6:43
I think this is a PR by 1:10 on this course. Yahoo.

Great time, Lonn! Congrats on the PR. I do run in a social vaccum over here, but still, I've never heard of anyone running 3.7 miles immediately prior to racing a 10K. I warm up for races by walking a little bit.
Yes, it is a bit of an unusual pre-race strategy. It strives to ignore most of the usual laws of physics and physiology - like gravity, heat, atp, ach buildup, calcium depletion, etc. If hypoxia is your goal - this is a plan for you. Maybe next time we'll just sit in our car and drink our espressos like we used to.
