Mostly a fartlek trying to keep my HR around 80%. I was finding it very easy which makes me question my max HR from yesterday.
Since I was targeting 2 miles in total distance I cranked the speed to 10 mph for the last .25 miles of the 2 mile total. During this period I recorded several seconds of 200+ HR with my watch recording a max of 240 bpm. This just seems crazy high but I definately think my 198 from yesterday is low and this might explain why it was hard for me to get any kind of pace going in the 80% range.
So I'm thinking tomorrow will be an easy recovery run (2 miles) and then I'll repeat this workout Friday if possible. Maybe long run on Saturday to get to 10+ miles my first week back from injury but with family coming in this will be challenging.
On a separate note my new shoes are working and feeling great and if I didn't get an ingrown toenail from returning to my work boots during the day my feet would be almost pain free since my sprain. So at least some sort of progress even if it isn't fitness yet.
