not only was it cold, but it was EVIL riding home last night and in to work this AM. i have never seen so much black ice in my whole entire life. We had one of those sudden mini-blizzards that dropped like, 3" of snow in 45 minutes and (wait for it!) it hit right at 5PM last night. Not a single snowplow, grit truck, or other county vehicle to be seen anywhere, and I was out running errands, getting dinner & at the wifi cafe' in it until ~8PM. And okay, so I was gonna bail out and take a bus... not a bus to be found anywhere! so this little piggy got to go wee, wee, WHEE! on the 'cross bike, all the way home. (only busted my arse once, which is quite frankly amazing).

This AM was even worse cos it went down to like, five degrees overnight so of course it all froze into a friggin statewide hockey rink. I witnessed a couple minor fender-benders, one all up close and personal-like. A car turned left @ a stoplight I was waiting for, lost it, went over kerb, hit a pole, knocked out the traffic signal... at which point i chickened out and took the sidewalk the remaining 2 blocks to the office.

long ride with the mister, with some climbing tacked on for his benefit. for the record he punk'd me hard on olde stage.

so naturally I dragged him out into the middle of nowhere in the wind on St. Vrain and dropped him >:)

yea the temp's not all that, but what you don't see here is how ungodly WINDY it was. i almost died on the way home, seriously. SERIOUSLY!

got some shopping to do tonight, temps are dropping, maybe zero or below zero again tomorrow, who knows.
