I gave it some more effort today, kept my Cadence higher throughout the ride, and was able to up my avg speed pretty significantly around the same course with ~the same wind/direction.

I felt almost bonked by the time i got home, but don't seem to be feeling any ill effects today.

I also had a lady driving an SUV cut me off after she passed me on the outside IN a corner. Not such a big deal, except she cut me off, and STOPPED in teh middle of the road. Needless to say, i clamped on the brakes, but going about 28km/h to 0 doesn't happen in 10'. I hit her bumper with my front wheel, launched off the bike into her back window. Miraculously, i landed back down on my feet, and was able to grab the Bianchi with my hand, before either of us hit the pavement! I spun the front wheel, it didn't even go out of true, w00000t
The car behind stopped and the occupants jumped out to make sure i was ok, and say they would stay as witnessess to what happened, they were really nice. I went to the SUVs passenger window and asked the lady, 'why did you stop like that?' her response was she thought the road was closed! (It was not closed, but in fact 2 lanes were merged into 1 via pylons because of Construction) I didn't say anything after that, and she just drove away. I realized after she'd left that the Housing the Powertap computer latches into on the stem broke, but i think i can fix it with some plastic cement, going to try this afternoon.
Pretty shitty way to start the season, but thank goodness i didn't hit the pavement and ruin another set of clothes. Also thank goodness my thigh/knee hit the headset instead of denting the frame again!
