Tags: BCC 15km Individual Time Trial

The final of our Time Trial series. i had no motivation to ride today, but went since it was the last one, and I've been to all of them so far.

I rode out, and it was humid, but cool, with dark grey clouds overhead.

Because I've been fast lately, i started second last as usual, with Watson behind me, on his new TT bike.

I knew I was not going to be fast tonight, and predicted a time of over 24mins, compared to my best of 23. I set out and almost stopped at the first concession line i felt so shitty and slow. I continued on, and it began to rain, YAY!

I still endured and rode it out, Andrew caught me before the turnaround!!

I rolled home sitting up with a time of 25mins flat. Not sure how too many peeps times were, but Shawn, and Andrew definitely cleaned my clock, likely several others too.

Not the best way to finish the season, but i'm tired, i've ridden an awful lot of miles, double what I did last year!

I'm on a mission to procure a cross bike for the season opener the first weekend of October, hopefully I can get it together in time.

Until then, I have a century on Saturday, and a Metric to do on Sunday, so I'll still be racking on the miles, but I think i'll take a week off before October.

Astro
sounds like you might be overdoing it, are you building enough rest into your schedule? And now cross season, you're not getting much of a mental break!

You didn't mention if you're doing these TTs on a TT bike with full aero gear?

Dean, i think the biggest problem is that i'm a fair weather rider who excels in the heat of summer. This cold, wet, dark weather just is not conducive to me getting motivated, or in the mood to ride.

I am def feeling the effects of my mileage, but last week was my shortest week in terms of hours on the bike since April.
I really just need to re-condition myself to not get so put off by crappy weather.

I do the TTs like i do every other mile I ride, on my Bianchi without Aero bars, aero helmet, booties, skin suit, anything really. I don't even change my seat position. I did that for the first one of the year, and had it set too high and really cost myself some time.
