Today was the club century ride to Awenda Provincial Park. We were supposed to leave at 9am. However, mother nature had other ideas.
At 9 it was still pouring, so we decided to postpone until 10am. it was a very fine drizzle at this point, but those of us who showed up, decided to go. Everyone except Murray, who got dressed, and then back in his car and left!!
We rolled out of Sunnidale with 12 of us, and we were picking one up on the way out of town.
Dave Viney and Andrew Watson both came, so we talked Powertaps and training ideas for a good part of the ride. It was wet and cold the entire way to the park, but there were bananas and cookies waiting for us when we arrived :)
After about a 40minute lunch break, it was back on the road home. This had a lot less climbing than the first half, where we did about 3500' of climbing. We followed the shores of Georgian Bay for quite some time before turning inland and heading for home. The pavement was fresh and smooth, and it was also finally dry, good times, good times.
Our pace was too slow for Viney, and he rode off the front shortly after the lunch break. He made some wrong turns on the way home, and we beat him by about 15minutes lol
Had some good pulls on the front coming home, got everyone's heart rate going ;) Felt great coming home, we'll see what tomorrow brings, I am considering doing it again!
