mathowie in the lead. What is the world coming to?
among other things, me skipping about a whole week of entering rides! (still wouldn't put me anywhere near the lead, tho.) :)
I know, when was the last time I was in the top five?
Chalk it up to finally having the sun out half the time and me getting motivated for short track XC season here in Portland. First race is June 22.
work sent me out to Phoenix last week and the Club Racer is in transit via UPS to Canada; and I'm well into my tapering period right now.
Is anyone thinking of cracking 500 this month?
I'm on track to do over 600 this month, but I have two short three day trips that might hamper my progress.
I'm not going to even hit 300 if this rain keeps up. This spring has sucked, weather-wise. Sigh.
yeah, current forecasts for my 1000k are predicting occasional rain throughout the entire route for that weekend. I am a little less than thrilled.
I'll go for 500 if it's "A Challenge".
(I work best under pressure)
500 mile month, eh? Means I have 15 days to do 422 miles.. Only 28 miles per day, no problem! Wait, what is that in real units.. 45km per day?!?! Perhaps not. Alas..
Looks like I'm training for a metric century brevet in August and a "real" century in September, so my miles this month will go up... But, even in a best case scenario I'll still be ~65 miles short of 500 for June.
I made the top 20 for week 2? What's the world coming to? Been off the bike for way too long. Watch those miles rise.
I spoke too soon. A case of food poisoning stole four days of riding, and even today the heat and wind made the little mileage I did miserable. I may go back to swimming until we get a break in the heat.
Argh, so close! If June had 31 days instead of 30, I'd consider giving 500 a go. Alas, looks like I'll be just short.
Up 18 places for the win. Impressive :)
@spokenword: I'm in awe. Damn. Why am I sitting here typing when I should be on the bike?
yeah, well, I do feel like it's sort of cheating since 93% of this month's miles were from one ride, and I was off the bike for almost half of the month. With that said, though, I have -no- long rides slated for July, so the field is wide open for someone else to take the top spot. I'm expecting this month's mileage to probably be more in the realm of 300 miles or so ... though, who knows what temptations lie outside the doorstep.
oops, I missed a bunch of data entry again...since June 12! jumped from 107 to 248. (loving this weather for commuting. I think I've missed exactly one day in the last two months.)
The temperatures here are threatening to take me off the cycling board entirely. We have had way too many days over 100F in the last couple of weeks, and the pollution levels are getting scary.
spokenword, there is no way in hell a 1000k ride could be considered cheating.
I'll update as soon as my internet comes back online. Right now my main computer is not connected....
It's alive!!!
(and updated, or will be in just a second)
