Back to my rightful place :)
I broke a spoke on the 12th. I made a vow to do all my own bike work, figuring that my urge to bike would be stronger than my urge to procrastinate. Looks like I was wrong, as I haven't ridden since.
Yet I still came in 5th!
"October 12, 2007 - Out for pizza" That must have been some pizza :)
I dunno man.. I'm totally down with doing all your own work (or at least MOST) and procrastinating, but.. Well, I'd just ride with the broken spoke (in fact, my longest ride of the month was with a broken spoke).. Of course if your wheel only has 16, that might not work out so well :)
I never get tired of saying it (and hope you're not tired of hearing it) - thanks again, Chuckles, for crunching the numbers.
Weather's about to take a nasty turn (November! Edmonton!), so I expect to be back riding the bus by the beginning of next week. Here's hoping the roads are clear by the end of March.
Thanks Chuckles! I was a non-biker for a week due to being on call at a not-quickly-bikeable site, and I've been slackin' on the weekends.
I broke a spoke, too, in Oct-- ended up having my whole rear wheel replaced. The rim had been worn concave by the brakes.
Argh! Just shy of 200 miles again. Crazy work schedule and an early seaonal flu kept me off the bike as much as I would have liked. Increasing my mileage through a New York November should be a challenge.
I'm determined to stop slacking, even if it means dreary rides at the gym. Here I go.
