Yellow Jersey!
Posted about 1 year ago by mathowieHey, here's another motivation idea: How about if I buy the winner of the August challenge a real yellow jersey with the MeFi logo on the front?
This site does them for a fairly reasonable rate:

I bet you could design and sell them and they'd move...I know I'd buy one (because my August miles might not be too large).
Yeah, I'd like to do some normal blue/yellow/green ones.
See also Portland Cyclewear for that extra retro awesomeness, plus the pleasure of buying local. Less expensive and much cooler in my opinion. Not that I'm in the running for any kind of kit, mind. Damn, mathowie, you're puttin' up miles.

Thanks for mentioning Portland Cyclewear. I found that site last year when I was thinking of getting some custom wool mefi jerseys, but I lost the URL ages ago and forgot about them.
I'll check them out for sure for this.
Oh hell yes! Not that I need merino wool in Southern California. And I have my doubts about the unisex sizing too. But they look cool!
Not interested in a yellow jersey. But if you sold a mefi-blue jersey with the Metafilter logo on it, I would buy two.
Now, a King of the Mountain jersey, on the other hand...
KotM jersey should have MeFi blue polka dots.
I could go for a MetaFilter jersey!
does this mean i have to find my polar HRM with the altimeter and figure out how it works again? cos if i do you lot are going down, all i have to do is climb mt. evans every saturday from my house; that's close to 10,000' round trip.
So... gonna make good on that?
Sure wolfdog. Which jersey idea did you like best? The blue/white ones or those wool custom jobs?
In retrospect, I should have ridden the 22 and 23rd, the two hottest days we had here in August, instead of wimping out.
I did do some big rides last month, but wasn't as consistent as I needed to be.
In any case, congratulations Wolfdog.
Matt: I'm kind of inclined toward the more retro-looking wool, but I'm easy.
Jeff: Thanks. I don't think anyone's likely to rag you too hard for, quote, "wimping out".
I'm going to stay away from logging miles here for a while, because I don't like getting obsessive about it.
Aww man, and this month I am out of town and bikeless for a week.
Otherwise, that yellow jersey would be mine. Oh, yes. It would be mine.
Yar. Out of town for 2 weeks here. I have a funny feeling that the jersey's going to go to ssg this month, unless someone else has been hoarding their godlike stats offline.
