Welcome to the home of the McKenzie River Trail Run, the final event in the Oregon Trail Ultra Series. Tracing a route along the beautiful McKenzie River Trail, this 50K offers runners a technically challenging course and the inspiration of some of Oregon's most breathtaking scenery.
We are pleased to announce some news for 2008. If you read my 2007 report, then you know that this year was to be our last. But no. Mark Humphreys has run six of the last seven MRTR's, improving his time each year. This veteran ultra runner from Eugene will return in 2008, only this time he will be in the role of new race director. He will be assisted by Brad Putnam and Mike Milbradt, along with many of our regular local volunteers and Jeff Sherman and his XC kids from McKenzie High School. The 2008 date is September 6.
Mark will continue the McKenzie tradition of opening registration April 1, with the entry form appearing here. You copy it and mail it in, limit still at 150. Web master Milo Skinner will also continue his support with this great web site. I couldn't be more pleased with how this has all turned out. Thanks everyone for all the support over the years. See you on the trails!
