This fast, flat, scenic course keeps runners & walkers interested and motivated from start to finish. Participants will prepare and energize for the race at the home of three Olympic trials, eight NCAA championships and countless national and world record breaking efforts - Hayward Field.
The 26.2 mile race starts on Agate Street, in front of Hayward Field and continues for 6 miles around Amazon Park and the University of Oregon area. Runners then cross the first of three foot bridges over the beautiful Willamette River and begin an 8 mile loop through Alton Baker Park East and into Springfield.
Participants return to the Eugene bike paths at mile 14 where they will enjoy approximately 10 miles of scenic river trails and go in and out of six different parks along their way to finishing on Leo Harris Parkway in front of University of Oregon’s Autzen Stadium.

Looking forward to a pleasant 23 mile run followed by a grueling 5K.
Well, the last 5k in the Eugene Marathon is guarenteed downhill with a tailwind!
The last 5k sounds nice. I'm guessing most of the course is on pavement versus dirt or woodchips, is that accurate?
All on pavement, yes. And I was joking a bit on the last 5k. It is all very flat.
We have a group of friends signing up. This will be my first time and I can't wait!!
Myminnie, your first marathon or your first Eugene Marathon? Why aren't you running with the Creswell Running Club? You know that they're almost famous?! Seriously, join us on Saturdays when you can. We'd love to meet up. We (big "we" there since there were only two of us today :-) did Row River Trail this morning.
I hope everyone had a good race. I am still feeling the effects.
I had an outstanding race. Glad you did too. The race director made some very positive, key adjustments from the inaugaral event that made the race even more outstanding. I was pleased.
